Improving Students’ Writing Ability through Small Group Discussion Technique

This research aimed to improve students’ writing ability by using Small Group Discussion Technique. The subject of this was the 8th B Grade SMP Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung. It consisted 30 students. used Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which 2 cycles. In research, writer test and non-test in collecting data. formative summative test. Meanwhile non-test, field note observation sheet. analyzing data, quantitative qualitative Based on result it found that there an improvement after implementing Discussion. Refers test, showed a number students who get score ≥75 is about 17 with percentage 56.70% first cycle. Meanwhile, better second cycle, 22 73.30%. other hand, referring attitude or behaviour lesson. were some positive progression supported them mastering Therefore, can be concluded implementation successful at Eighth grade
